WTF ? Students Encouraged To Step On American Flag As Part Of Art Project

Students at a Kentucky high school were encouraged to step on an American flag that had been placed on the floor as part of an art display, outraging parents and students.

The display at McCracken County High School, was a re-creation of “Dread” Scott Tyler’s 1989 installation titled “The Proper Way to Display an American Flag.”

* President Obama wants America involved in Syria’s civil war pitting the antagonistic Assad regime against equally antagonistic Al Qaeda affiliated rebels. But he’s not quite sure which side is doing what, what the ultimate end game is, or even whose side we should be on. Haven’t we learned? WAGs don’t work in war. 

* We didn’t intervene when over 100,000 Syrians were tragically slaughtered by various means, but we’ll now intervene to avenge the tragic deaths of over 1,000 Syrians killed by chemical weapons, though according to the White House we’re not actually planning to take out the chemical weapons because doing so would require “too much of a commitment.”

* President Obama wants to do what, exactly? Punish evil acts in the form of a telegraphed air strike on Syria to serve as a deterrent? If our invasion of Iraq wasn’t enough of a deterrent to stop evil men from using chemical weapons on their own people, why do we think this will be? 

* The world sympathizes with the plight of civilians tragically caught in the crossfire of this internal conflict. But President Obama’s advertised war plan (which has given Assad enough of a heads-up that he’s reportedly already placing human shields at targeted sites) isn’t about protecting civilians, and it’s not been explained how lobbing U.S. missiles at Syria will help Syrian civilians. Do we really think our actions help either side or stop them from hurting more civilians?

* We have no clear mission in Syria. There’s no explanation of what vital American interests are at stake there today amidst yet another centuries-old internal struggle between violent radical Islamists and a murderous dictatorial regime, and we have no business getting involved anywhere without one. And where’s the legal consent of the people’s representatives? Our allies in Britain have already spoken. They just said no. The American people overwhelmingly agree, and the wisdom of the people must be heeded. 

* Our Nobel Peace Prize winning President needs to seek Congressional approval before taking us to war. It’s nonsense to argue that, “Well, Bush did it.” Bull. President Bush received support from both Congress and a coalition of our allies for “his wars,” ironically the same wars Obama says he vehemently opposed because of lack of proof of America’s vital interests being at stake. 

* Bottom line is that this is about President Obama saving political face because of his “red line” promise regarding chemical weapons.

* As I said before, if we are dangerously uncertain of the outcome and are led into war by a Commander-in-chief who can’t recognize that this conflict is pitting Islamic extremists against an authoritarian regime with both sides shouting “Allah Akbar” at each other, then let Allah sort it out.

Ghouta, Syria — As the machinery for a U.S.-led military intervention in Syria gathers pace following last week’s chemical weapons attack, the U.S. and its allies may be targeting the wrong culprit.

Interviews with people in Damascus and Ghouta, a suburb of the Syrian capital, where the humanitarian agency Doctors Without Borders said at least 355 people had died last week from what it believed to be a neurotoxic agent, appear to indicate as much.

The U.S., Britain, and France as well as the Arab League have accused the regime of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad for carrying out the chemical weapons attack, which mainly targeted civilians. U.S. warships are stationed in the Mediterranean Sea to launch military strikes against Syria in punishment for carrying out a massive chemical weapons attack. The U.S. and others are not interested in examining any contrary evidence, with U.S Secretary of State John Kerry saying Monday that Assad’s guilt was “a judgment … already clear to the world.”

However, from numerous interviews with doctors, Ghouta residents, rebel fighters and their families, a different picture emerges. Many believe that certain rebels received chemical weapons via the Saudi intelligence chief, Prince Bandar bin Sultan, and were responsible for carrying out the dealing gas attack.

“My son came to me two weeks ago asking what I thought the weapons were that he had been asked to carry,” said Abu Abdel-Moneim, the father of a rebel fighting to unseat Assad, who lives in Ghouta.

Abdel-Moneim said his son and 12 other rebels were killed inside of a tunnel used to store weapons provided by a Saudi militant, known as Abu Ayesha, who was leading a fighting battalion. The father described the weapons as having a “tube-like structure” while others were like a “huge gas bottle.”

Ghouta townspeople said the rebels were using mosques and private houses to sleep while storing their weapons in tunnels.

Ted Nugent’s Wife Arrested at Dallas Airport After "Honest Mistake"

The wife of conservative rocker Ted Nugent was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Thursday after security discovered a firearm in her carry-on luggage.

DFW Airport Department of Public Safety took Shemane Ann Nugent into custody, and “the rest of it is working its way through our system of legal approval,” airport spokesman David Magana told the Dallas Morning News.

The entire incident was an “honest mistake,” according to Nugent’s attorney, David Finn. Mrs. Nugent reportedly has a concealed handgun license.

It was unclear whether her husband was with her at the time. Ted Nugent is scheduled to play a concert in Ramona, Calif., on Thursday night.

The Dallas Morning News breaks down the regulations regarding guns and airports:

Guns are allowed in checked luggage, but not on planes. Through July, security found 57 guns in carry-on bags at D/FW Airport. The airport ranks second behind Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to a Transportation Security Administration spokesman. Iran’s Revolutionary Guards chief said a US military attack on Syria would lead to the “imminent destruction” of Israel and would prove a “second Vietnam” for America, according to an Iranian news agency.

Shiite Muslim Iran, an arch-enemy of Israel, is supporting Syrian President Bashar Assad against mainly Sunni Muslim rebels trying to oust him in a two-and-a-half-year-old revolt.

Iran has blamed the rebels for a suspected chemical weapons on August 21 that killed hundreds of civilians. Opposition activists blame Assad’s forces, Washington has agreed and President Barack Obama made the case for a limited military strike against Syria in response to the chemical attack.

Mohammad Ali Jafari, commander of Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, said in an interview late on Wednesday with the Tasnim news agency that a U.S. strike on Syria would not help Israel.

“An attack on Syria will mean the imminent destruction of Israel,” Jafari said, according to Tasnim.

Hezbollah has declared a state of alert among its cadres and started deploying troops to southern Lebanon amid mounting expectations of an imminent US-led strike on Syria, party sources told NOW.

The Shiite party’s leadership is holding local, regional and international talks to follow up on the nature and results of such a strike, the sources said, adding the party is also taking into consideration all options regarding the manner of dealing with the potential attack.

The US and its top Western allies in recent days vowed to take action against the Bashar al-Assad regime after accusing it of being behind the chemical attack outside Damascus last Wednesday that reportedly left hundreds dead.

Although President Barack Obama said in an interview with PBS Wednesday he had not yet approved an attack on Syria, reports indicate the US and its Western allies are deploying military assets to the Mediterranean in preparation for a potential strike.

Despite the growing reports of an imminent military operation, sources told NOW that Hezbollah has not yet taken a conclusive decision on the nature and scope of the party’s retaliation.

The party's leadership is keeping all options open in following-up and coordinating with its allies in Iran, Syria and Russia, the sources added.

However, they claimed a Western strike on Syria would not harm Hezbollah’s status in Lebanon because the Shiite party is strong in Lebanon and has extensive popular and political capacities.

Anyone betting in Lebanon on weakening the party due to the strike on Syria would be mistaken and delusional, they added.

On Wednesday, Hezbollah’s caretaker Agriculture Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan said that his party was monitoring the situation in Syria and would respond with “the necessary action at the appropriate time.”

“Hezbollah is following up with the issue and observing and will take the necessary action at the appropriate time,” Hajj Hassan told Al-Mayadeen television.

Hezbollah’s top ally, Iran, has issued in the past week a series of implicit threats and warnings over a potential strike against Syria, with Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei warning any “US intervention will be a disaster for the region.”

“The region is like a gunpowder depot. [Its] future cannot be predicted,” he added in an address Wednesday.

Hezbollah has thrown its weight behind the embattled Assad and sent its militants to Syria to fight on the side of the regime against rebels. The leader of the Shiite party publicly linked his group’s fate to that of the regime in a speech in May and vowed that Hezbollah would emerge victorious in the fighting in Syria.

What were about to say is stunning, but based on policy actions, we 100% believe is correct. The reason Obama is leaking the "military attack plans on Syria" is simply this. He's telling all the enemies of Israel and America: "the day we've all waited for is at hand." That's the word coming from some in the Obama administration -- the White House swears it's not them. And while Obama's aides publicly insist that the President hasn't made a final decision about whether to attack Syria, anonymous officials within his administration are leaking a strikingly large amount of detailed information about the timing, duration and scope of the potential military intervention. The flood of details raises a pair of related questions. Is the administration deliberately trying to telegraph its plans for a strike? And if so, why?

"I have no earthly idea why they're talking so much," said retired Admiral William Fallon, the former head of the military's Central Command. "It's not leaking out; it's coming out through a hose. It's just a complete head-scratcher."

David Deptula, a retired Air Force lieutenant general who commanded the no-fly zone over Iraq in the late 1990s, said that military action was most effective when a U.S. foe like Assad didn't have a clear sense of the timing and severity of a potential strike and couldn't take protective measures in advance like dispersing his troops or weapons so they'd be harder to find and destroy. The administration's public and private comments, he said, meant that Assad would have an easier time figuring out when and how to prepare for a U.S. assault.

"You don't want an adversary to know what's coming," Deptula said. "Now Assad does."

The intelligence linking Syrian President Bashar Assad or his inner circle to an alleged chemical weapons attack is no "slam dunk," with questions remaining about who actually controls some of Syria's chemical weapons stores and doubts about whether Assad himself ordered the strike, U.S. intelligence officials say.

President Barack Obama declared unequivocally Wednesday that the Syrian government was responsible, while laying the groundwork for an expected U.S. military strike.

"We have concluded that the Syrian government in fact carried these out," Obama said in an interview with "NewsHour" on PBS. "And if that's so, then there need to be international consequences."

However, multiple U.S. officials used the phrase "not a slam dunk" to describe the intelligence picture - a reference to then-CIA Director George Tenet's insistence in 2002 that U.S. intelligence showing Iraq had weapons of mass destruction was a "slam dunk" - intelligence that turned out to be wrong.

A report by the Office of the Director for National Intelligence outlining that evidence against Syria includes a few key caveats - including acknowledging that the U.S. intelligence community no longer has the certainty it did six months ago of where the regime's chemical weapons are stored, nor does it have proof Assad ordered chemical weapons use, according to two intelligence officials and two more U.S. officials.

We have no doubt that Iran, Hezbollah and Syria will in fact rain missiles on Israel. The images in this post are a small snap shot of what Israel will face. America, there is no Iron Dome or Patriot system in existence that can shoot all these missiles down, period! 

America, war with Syria will almost certainly result in Israel being severely damaged or worse. Bibi will never absorb this without launching everything he's got. We don't blame Bibi for this, but, this is what we face. We will start this chain reaction all to advance the cause of Al-Qaeda and the Muslim Brotherhood. Barracuda Brigade feels we should be killing Al-Qaeda and the Hood, not becoming their military enforcers.

Iran is threatening to launch a massive missile strike against Israel if the United States attacks Syria for using chemical weapons against its own people, which could touch off a full-blown war in the region.

“The day of reckoning is near,” according to Hossein Shariatmadari, the chief editor of Keyhan newspaper, an outlet controlled by Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

An Op-Ed penned by Shariatmadari Tuesday warned that the impending confrontation between the West and Syria would “provide the long-awaited opportunity for revenge against Israel and America.”

The editor recalled the U.S.-led attack on Baghdad on March 20, 2003, and President George W. Bush’s boast to reporters seven days later that the “Iraq war is over.” But when the last U.S. soldiers were leaving Iraq in December 2011, nearly 4,500 Americans had been killed and the war had cost America trillions of dollars.

Shariatmadari said that Washington, instead of open war against Syria, has been waging a proxy war against the Assad regime with the help of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt. He said now it is ready to directly confront Syria militarily, one of the members of the Resistance Front along with Iran and Lebanon’s Hezbollah. However, despite Syrian rebels receiving financial and military support from those Middle East countries, not only has the Assad regime not been overthrown but it has opened a “new chapter for the Resistance where it formed the forces of ‘defense of Homeland,’ a force similar to the Basij militias (in Iran).”

Iran has long drawn a red line around the Assad regime. And Hezbollah fighters in Lebanon, Israel’s neighbor, are armed with thousands of missiles. The three members of the Resistance Front have a joint war room.

“Because of the failure of the intended proxy war, America and some Arab and European countries are preparing to attack Syria on the false claims that the Assad regime has used chemical weapons,” the editor said. “However, America can certainly start the war but it won’t be the one to end it.”

Palinista’s Daugher Recognized By School Board for Saving Life

The Northside Independent School District of San Antonio last night at their board meeting recognized Kimberley Gaskill a kindergarten teacher at Adams Hill Elementary for receiving the American Red Cross Life saving award for stopping and rendering aid after an accident saving the life of a person who was severely injured and had stopped breathing.

The board members were also told that Kimberley had been nominated for The American Red Cross National Certificate of Merit, signed by the President of the United States.
