The Blaze
The wife of conservative rocker Ted Nugent was arrested at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport on Thursday after security discovered a firearm in her carry-on luggage.
DFW Airport Department of Public Safety took Shemane Ann Nugent into custody, and “the rest of it is working its way through our system of legal approval,” airport spokesman David Magana told the Dallas Morning News.
The entire incident was an “honest mistake,” according to Nugent’s attorney, David Finn. Mrs. Nugent reportedly has a concealed handgun license.
It was unclear whether her husband was with her at the time. Ted Nugent is scheduled to play a concert in Ramona, Calif., on Thursday night.

Guns are allowed in checked luggage, but not on planes. Through July, security found 57 guns in carry-on bags at D/FW Airport. The airport ranks second behind Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to a Transportation Security Administration spokesman. George Bush Intercontinental Airport ranks third, and Dallas Love Field comes in at No. 12.

HOUSTON
A woman opened fire on a group of robbers at a local Denny's restaurant.
At around 4 a.m. Thursday, a man who does not want to be identified, said his brother was robbed by six men with guns at a Denny's off the Gulf Freeway in southeast Houston.
"I don't know if it was random or someone set him up. Because he got his own label," said the victim's brother.

Castle Rock, Colorado's Oakwood Apartment's is telling tenants--including 77 year-old Marine Art Dorsch--to get rid of their guns or get out of the apartment complex.
Just last week the manager of the complex sent a letter to tenants informing them of new rules banning all "firearms and weapons" on the premises.
According to The Washington Times, former USMC Dorsch says it "upsets [him] very much."
Dorsch is both "an avid hunter" and a concealed carry permit holder. He also lives on a fixed income so he cannot afford to pack up and move to an apartment complex that is more respectful of the right to keep and bear arms.
According to Dorsch: "They want to take [all my guns] away from me" or "they say I can't live here."
The apartment complex has not explained how it plans to defend and protect those to whom it is denying the right to defend and protect themselves.

VANCOUVER, Wash. (KOIN) – A Vancouver man who fired a shotgun to chase away alleged car prowlers off his property was arraigned in Clark County Court Wednesday.
Fifty-two-year-old Jeffery Barton plead not guilty to one count of illegal aiming or discharging a firearm.
Barton reportedly admitted to deputies that he fired his weapon while chasing away people who he thought were breaking into his vehicles at 5804 NE 124th St. in the early morning hours Monday.
Deputies have been investigating whether a large teen party that got out of control at a neighbor’s home may have been linked to the shooting. However, at this point, deputies have said there was no evidence of prowlers on Barton’s property.
Outside the courtroom Wednesday, Barton cited the vice president in defense of his actions.
“I did what Joe Biden told me to do,” Barton told KOIN. “I went outside and fired my shotgun in the air.”
Barton was referring to a question and answer session the vice president had in February.
“If you want to protect yourself, get a double-barreled shot gun,” Biden said at the time.
“I said ‘Jill, if there’s ever a problem, just walk out on the balcony here… put that double-barreled shotgun and fire two blasts outside the house,’” Biden went on to say.
